CURIOUS CROW ACRYLICS ON CEDAR W/RED OAK FRAME FALL 2020
It is common knowledge that crows and all corvids have a high degree of intelligence. Born with a natural inquisitiveness, they always want to know what’s going on. This painting is the seventh installment of my Snapshot Series; a series of small paintings highlighting some of our favorite small birds. I made the frame out of red oak using pegged, hand-joined, mortise-and-tenon construction methods. I used the Japanese technique (shou-sugi-ban) of charring and oiling the oak to finish the frame.
